On 20 August 2026, our national coordinating site in the Netherlands, Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht, was successfully initiated! This marks an important milestone for our trial. The Netherlands are now the third country, alongside Germany and Australia, to be activated for patient recruitment. Many thanks to the entire study team in Utrecht for the excellent preparation and collaboration! A special thank you to our National Trial Coordinators Professor Bart van der Worp and Dr Peter Loh for their great support in initiiating EAST-STROKE in the Netherlands. We are now looking foward to the first patients being enrolled in the Netherlands!
